... orchestral items in the first half included the world premier of "Christmas at the Castle", an atmospheric piece composed by Nicola Kirkup, a member of the orchestra.

In the first half of the concert we were delighted to be joined again by the Chilton Saint James Seraphim Choir.  Here their conductor Rowan Johnston introduces the first of their pieces "Mary did you Know?"

The choir's Christmas-themed pieces included the well known "Twelve Days of Christmas" arranged by  Anthony Ritchie.

In keeping with the Christmas  theme,  the flute section enjoyed decorating their flutes...

In the second half of the concert, the strings played movements from Mozart's "Eine Kleine Nachtmusik", before the full orchestra performed selections from the moving "Phantom of the Opera", and concluded with Christmas items "Carillon of Forest Green" and Leroy Anderson's "Christmas Festival".  A lively encore of Copland's Hoedown followed - a fitting end to a great concert to finish 2023.
