our violin soloist  in Beethoven's  Violin Concerto in D

    An enthusiastic audience and orchestra after the wonderful concerto.

After the interval, the orchestra's flutes featured in a moving 
performance of Gluck's Minuet and Dance of the Blessed Spirits.

Then came two very lively Saint Saëns pieces: Danse Macabre and Bacchanale.  
The whole orchestra was showcased in these pieces.  

Brass section  
This very popular concert concluded with Offenbach's Can Can
which saw some of the audience children dancing.
