This concert took place on a fine winter day with a capacity audience.

and introduces our first item - a lively Overture by Hérold.

  This was followed by Dvorak's Slavonic Dances.  Here the orchestra is seen from the first violins....

After the interval, the audience enjoyed three movements from Grieg's Peer Gynt Suite.  This included well known solos for flute and bassoon and the moving strings-only Ase's Death.

The concert then had a dramatic finish with
the movements from Prokofiev's Romeo and Juliet Suites, all played to our packed church.
