Star Wars - The Empire Strikes Back. Once upon a time, in a galaxy far, far away, somebody composed a bagpipe and ukelele concerto. Luckily, the Empire marched in and suppressed it, to the stirring sounds of 'The Imperial March'. The concert opens with Princess Leia's Theme Then The Imperial March, alias: The Darth Vader Theme. |

Star Trek - The Motion Picture. Released in 1979 a full decade after the TV series had appeared, this movie did not boldly go where no episode had gone before. Still, for the main theme, composer Jerry Goldsmith was asked to depict the whole universe. It was, as they say, a bit of an ask. Listen and judge. |

Forrest Gump is the story of a man with an IQ of 75, whose uncomplicated approach to the puzzles of life left many moviegoers happy, and a number annoyed that their own personal angst seemed to be intellectually trivialised. Well, that was back in 1994, the movie was a great success, and is still well liked. We play a suite from the movie. |

Gladiator was the Academy Best Picture of 2000. Loosely based on Rome around 180 AD, it is a mix of political intrigue and battle scenes. Our hero triumphs, but doesn't live happily ever after. We play three pieces from the movie: Barbarian Horde The Battle Earth |

Chicago is a 2002 film based on the 1975 musical. As such, we have distinct pieces rather than a pastiche of themes combined into a suite. And all that jazz Cell block tango Roxie We both reached for the gun |

Psycho is the oldest movie in our collection. It dates from 1960, and is still in many ways the genre-defining film that other hide-in-your-seats films are judged by. We play the main theme. |

The Fellowship of the Ring. The first of the trilogy, released in 2001. We have left it to last, as we like it the most. The following are all there, in a spot-the-theme stream. The Fellowship Theme, The Prophecy, Concerning Hobbits, Three is Company, In Dreams, A Knife in the Dark, Argonath, The Breaking of the Fellowship. |
